The Bakehouse at Wally Acres grew from my love of Southern desserts, family traditions, and the memories that seem to live inside certain flavors.
I create from-scratch baked goods for folks, special treats for fidos, and small-batch pantry favorites, all made with intention and a deep respect for flavor. Each recipe begins with something familiar and comforting, often finished with a thoughtful twist.
For me, baking is about more than dessert. It is a way to honor the people and traditions that shaped us, create new memories around the table, and offer a little comfort in a world that moves far too fast.

Our recipes are inspired by beloved Southern desserts, porch drinks, family traditions, and the kind of memories that keep our loved ones around the table, even after they are gone. Some flavors come from old favorites, like pecan pie, sweet tea, German chocolate cake, apple fritters, bourbon balls, and cornbread with berries. Others come from personal stories, like pecans gathered under family trees and the tools passed down through hands that knew how to make simple things matter.
Sourcing matters deeply to us. We seek out local, small-batch, family-owned, organic, non-GMO, Fair Trade, regenerative, and community-minded companies whenever we can. We are drawn to businesses with heart: growers, makers, tea blenders, mills, farms, chocolate companies, and family-run shops whose own stories make our recipes feel even more rooted. Some simply have the kind of origin story that reminds us why small businesses matter in the first place. Because to us, choosing an ingredient is not just about what goes into the mixing bowl. It is about who made it, how it was grown, what it supports, and whether it adds meaning to the final product.
At The Bakehouse, flavor comes first. Every dessert we make is built with intention, from the ingredients we choose to the way each flavor works together. We believe a truly good treat does not need to rely on spectacle. It should taste balanced, memorable, nostalgic, and deeply satisfying from the first bite to the last crumb.
Every bite should carry something familiar, something thoughtful, and maybe a little something unexpected.
At The Bakehouse, flavor gets the final word. And around here, it has plenty to say.
